Our founder, Tuck Axelrod, was born in Cleveland, Ohio into a family with over 70 years of concessions business. Tuck has been traveling the country for decades serving stadiums, auto racing, golf tournaments, concerts and air shows. His travels have taken him to some of the best hotdog and hamburger locations in the US. Tuck has visited the famous hotdog shops from L.A. to New York. Tuck decided that the Midwest needed a famous hotdog and hamburger specialty shop and hence the birth of Tucky's.
Tucky's serves two types of hotdogs. One is a Skinless Old Vienna imported from Chicago. The other is a Natural Casing Hotdog, otherwise known as a Snap Dog. We needed two types of hotdogs in order to enhance the toppings for the Division Dogs.
The toppings for our Division Dogs were specially selected to create a memorable experience. In order to create an authentic Chicago Style hotdog, we use poppy seed buns, emerald relish and sports peppers. We put extensive time and research into each individual topping served at Tucky's from the perogies to the sauerkraut to the Amish coleslaw to the chili sauce. Each flavor combination is unique.
Tucky's takes the time to grind our burgers from scratch. We use multiple blends of high quality steak meats to make our burger patties. We trim the fat off of the meat to ensure that our burgers are the leanest you have ever tasted. This mixture is then pressed into 1/3 lbs. patties and served on a corn-dusted Kaiser roll. Tucky's waits to cook each burger in order to preserve the juices.
Tucky's has a special condiment station where our customers can create their perfect combination from different kinds of mustards, steak sauces, ketchup, and mayo. Customers can also select unique toppings such as salsa, sour cream, jalapenos, diced onions, relishes and Tucky's sauce. Finally, customers can complete their burger, chicken sandwich, fries, and sweet potato fries with over a dozen blended seasonings and turn them into fine works of art.
Our beverages and desserts are like stepping back into time. We serve handmade custard milkshakes. Our beverage cooler contains classic root beers, cream soda, black cherry soda, and the diet versions as well. Tucky's also uses a local baker to create original deserts like the extreme brownie and fresh berry triffle.
